Jackie French Visit

Only a few days to go until we have the pleasure of meeting the one and only Jackie French.  Everyone here at school is excited to have Jackie visit the school and spend some time talking with our students.  Many classes have already spent some Library session time learning about Jackie’s background and writing career – even taking time to watch some footage of Jackie’s wombat friends who are really cute.  Jackie is passionate about Australia and its history, books and reading, and of course, wombats – she is a board member of the Wombat Foundation, and with this in mind, we would like to contribute to the work of the Foundation as a way of showing our appreciation for Jackie’s visit next week.  On Thursday, students are asked to bring a gold coin donation for the Wombat Foundation.  This lets us share in one of Jackie’s passions, as well as allowing us to help continue the work of saving one of our native Aussie animals.
